Perico Sambeat : An Interview

With its first broadcast here on, at 9 am GMT tomorrow, comes the interview with one of the most respected saxophone players in Europe, the Spanish musician - Perico Sambeat

He played with some of the greats as a leader or as a side men, names like Kurt Rosenwinkel, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker, and many more.

For many years he has developed a musical relationship with the Portuguese Composer, Zé Eduardo, who brought him this time to Macau, Far East Asia, to be a part of the Iberian All Stars workshops.  

He also holds various prizes for his work in jazz, not only as a musician but also as a composer, recognizing him as one of the great saxophonists of Europe.

with a vast discography, with over twenty titles to his name, the last are Elástic, Baladas and Sketches of Pangea.

Self taught on the saxophone and one of the leading musicians on the fusion between Jazz and Flamenco, with his Perico Sambeat Flamenco Big Band.

We spoke with him, in the Macau Music Conservatory, to know more about him and his music.
